- Do you install bio-fireplaces in the customer’s house?

No, Bio Factory don’t do installations. Bio-fireplaces are ready to use and they have to be fixed to the wall (or put them on the floor). They don’t need pipes, the loss of heat is lesser than a classic fireplace with a pipe.

- What is bioethanol?

It’s a natural fuel that comes from agriculture and belongs to the family of renewable energies. Vegetables have sucrose (beet, cane) or starch (wheat, corn), they can be transformed to produce bioethanol, obtained by the fermentation of sugar, taken from the sugar plant or by enzymatic hydrolysis of starch in cereals.

The bioethanol to use in bio-fireplaces is distilled intensely to remove impurities produced by bad smell.

Result: when it’s burning, it practically releases only water steam and CO2, the equivalent of one to three candles.

- What are the risks related to carbon monoxide?

Bio-fireplace fumes are mainly made of water steam and carbonic gas (CO2). Gas associated with a combustion that is a risk for health, is carbon monoxide (CO). It can be produced when a combustion is incomplete due to the lack of oxygen.

It’s not the case of a bio-fireplace installed in a place with air, with enough surface ( a living room or a large room) when it’s easy to prove that combustion is done perfectly (the flame is alive).

The situation is exactly the same in a gas kitchen: the fire of cooking releases water steam and carbonic gas and there is not carbon monoxide fume because combustion is done with enough oxygen.

What must be avoided is a bio-fireplace in a little room, close and without air since the production of oxygen could be diminished.

In order to be quieter, a carbon monoxide detector (30 - 50 euro) can be bought everywhere. (Bricorama, Castorama, Internet...).

- Can wall bio-fireplaces be put on the floor?

No, wall bio-fireplaces have to be fixed to the wall (at a chosen height). The quality of fixation is vital to prevent the bio-fireplace from falling down.

- Which are the different bottles of bioethanol?

12 bottles of 1L (12L)

or 4 drums of 5L (20L)

or 3 drums of 5L (15L)

- Can the safety lighter be recharged?

Yes, it can be recharged with a gas recharge (available at a tobacconist).

- Are there protection crystals in bio-fireplaces?

No, only the models Seven Fire y Bio-meuble Vulcania can be provided with a protection crystal by request, but all of our fireplaces respect the safety rules that authorize this absence of a protection crystal.

- Can other fuels be used?

It’s essential to use only bioethanol for use in bio-fireplaces (Bioethanol for cars contains gasoline!)

-Can bio-fireplaces be embedded?

It’s possible to embed bio-fireplaces to a wall; we recommend to see a professional. It’s important to verify that any electrical cable is near the heat source.

- Are decorating boulders made of pottery?

Yes, decorating boulders are made of pottery. Boulders are not consumed.

- Is it necessary to isolate the wall when a bio-fireplace is fixed?

It’s not necessary to isolate the wall. The rear face of a fireplace is made of a material that ensures wall isolation. However, the wall has to be made of a material (plaster, concrete...) that supports a temperature from 80 to 100° C.

-Is the bioethanol in burners evaporated between two usages?

Yes, when the bio-fireplace is not working, bioethanol tends to evaporate. If it’s possible (according to the model) the hole can be sealed to limit this evaporation.

- Are wall models delivered with set screws?

The delivery includes set screws and the assembly is simple (between 5 and 15 minutes).

- Is it possible to put boulders in the fireplaces Murale PARTOUT?

-Origin of products?

Our manufacturers are located in France, Holland and Belgium.

- Can burners be put directly on fireplaces?

Yes, they have just to be put in the fireplace rather than logs.

- Does the consumption specified in the explanatory entries of products refer to the consumption by flare or the set of burners?

The specified consumption refers to the set of burners of the model.

-Are bio-fireplaces decoration elements or they really heat?

Fireplaces are complementary bio-fireplaces. In comparison with traditional fireplaces, they don’t lose two thirds of heat in the pipe of the fireplace. See our page «heating capacity» to consider the surface to heat according to the chosen model.

- Can the burner flares be reduced?

According to the models, it’s possible to regulate the intensity of burner flares.

- Is there any problem if a burner is inserted in a fireplace that already had a pipe?

No. So as not to lose heat, we recommend to close the existing pipe of the fireplace.

- Can a bio-fireplace be fixed to a wall of plasterboard?

Yes, but it’s better to strengthen the wall before installing the fireplace and use reinforced pins. It also depends on the weight of the bio-fireplace. What is important is a solid fixation and the fact that the fireplace cannot fall down.

- Can porous matter that protects the bio-fireplace Murale PARTOUT, PANAMA o XAMENA be removed?

The deposit of bioethanol contains porous matter that absorbs the bioethanol. This process guarantees an important safety of use: once bioethanol is introduced, it cannot dump.

However, it’s possible to remove it (by scraping with a screwdriver, for example) to obtain a greater flame (but the effect of safety is lost!).

- What are CO2 fumes and steam water?

CO2 fumes in our bio-fireplaces are equivalent to 1 to 3 candles. However, it’s better to air regularly the place where the fireplace is installed.

- Are bio-fireplaces dangerous?

Bio-fireplaces are not dangerous if safety rules are respected.
