Consumption: the heating capacity of a bio-fireplace depends on the amount of ethanol it consumes per hour. Most bio-fireplaces consume between 0.3 and 1.2 liter of bioethanol per hour.
Heating capacity:
The calorific value of bioethanol is 5 250 W / h per liter burned, (50% more than wood). This means that 1 liter of bioethanol burned per hour has a power of 5 250 Watts.
For example, bio-fireplaces OSLO XL burn 1.2 liter of bioethanol per hour, thus generating: 5 250 x 1.2 = 6 300 Watts
Bioethanol is ethanol of biological and agricultural origin It is produced from vegetable matter and is used as biofuels (or agrofuels).
It is a source of energy from agriculture and belongs to the family of renewable energies. Plants containing sugar (beet, cane sugar) or starch (wheat, maize) can be converted to bioethanol, obtained by fermentation of sugar extracted from sugar plant or by enzymatic hydrolysis of starch contained in cereals.
Bioethanol used for bio-fireplaces is intensely distilled to remove impurities that cause bad odors.
Result: when this fuel is burned, it mainly produces CO2 and water vapor.
